01 Milk antibiotic test kitsFocused, multi-residue and broad microbiological screening 3–10 min · up to 2.5 h
What can be detected
  • β-lactams
  • Tetracyclines
  • Sulfonamides
  • Quinolones
  • Aminoglycosides
  • Macrolides
  • Chloramphenicol

Plus broad screening of more than 50 antibiotic substances

SampleMilk

Raw cow milk; selected tests also support goat and sheep milk. Samples may be taken from an individual animal, farm tank, tanker or silo.

Result timeRapid tests

Approximately 3–10 minutes.

Broad screening

Approximately 2.5 hours.

EquipmentDepends on the method

HeatSensor DUO or OCTO for incubation, ReadSensor 2 for objective reading, or COMET4 for automatic screening.

View examples of individual substances

Available test systems include options for gentamicin, streptomycin, dihydrostreptomycin, neomycin, paromomycin, kanamycin, apramycin, lincomycin, clindamycin, tylosin A and B, spiramycin, neospiramycin and erythromycin. Coverage and detection limits depend on the selected kit.

02 Milk quality and safetyHeat-treatment control, nitrate screening and milk security tests Up to 70 sec · method-dependent
What can be detected
  • Alkaline phosphatase
  • Lactoperoxidase
  • Nitrate
  • Nitrite
  • Neutralisers
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Urea
  • Titratable acidity
  • pH
SampleRaw, pasteurised or UHT milk

The sample type depends on the target: heat-treatment checks use processed milk; MST strips are intended for raw milk.

Result timeFast visual checks

MST1 and MST2 give results within 60 seconds. QUANTOFIX Nitrate 100 is read in less than 70 seconds. Follow the selected test instructions.

EquipmentNo instrument required for routine visual reading

Phosphatesmo MI, Peroxtesmo MI and MST are visually interpreted. QUANTOFIX can be read visually or with the optional QUANTOFIX Relax reader.

What each milk quality test is used for

Phosphatesmo MI detects alkaline phosphatase for pasteurisation control. Peroxtesmo MI detects lactoperoxidase for checking highly heated milk. QUANTOFIX Nitrate 100 simultaneously screens nitrate and nitrite. Milkotronic MST1 checks raw milk for neutralisers, hydrogen peroxide and urea; MST2 determines titratable acidity and pH.
